The Tower, although short on space approximately nine square metres on each floor which is a genuine tight fit is long on views and unrestricted walking in whichever direction one might choose to go.
The dominating views take in the whole of the Valdichiana with Montepulciano and Monte Amiata visible in the far distance. The famous hill top town of Cortona with its summer festivals, concerts, excellent restaurants and newly built swimming pool in beautiful surroundings, is at a distance of 25 minutes.
Most services including restaurants, supermarkets and a petrol station are available within a 15 minute radius. Camucia’s main line train station (Rome Florence Milan) which allows for easy day trips to the area’s most famous towns - Montepulciano, Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, Florence, Perugia, Assisi etc... Is at a distance of 25 minutes as is access to all major motorways.
The Tower’s accommodation consists of ground floor kitchen area with a small table and two comfortable chairs and a small bathroom with shower. A spiral staircase in wrought iron leads up to the first floor bedroom where there is a queen sized bed and satellite TV.
The owners of the property who live in the main house nearby have created a private and shaded garden area where comfortable sun beds, a hammock, a barbeque, and table and chairs for dining ‘al fresco’, are all provided.
The access road although well maintained and gravelled is a genuine country road ‘alla Toscana’ in that it is three kilometres long and quite steep in places. It is not for the feint-hearted. Having said that, the views once destination has been reached, are definitely worth the climb.
