WHO WE ARE: I TRULLI APULI "LA FOGLIARELLA" takes its name from the 'contrada' in which it is located. It is situated in the midst of countryside, but at the same time it is only 15 minutes by car to Ostuni's beaches (at Rosa Marina, Villanova - Specchiolla) and those of Fasano (Torre Canne - Savelletri). We have lovingly restored three Trulli and a farmhouse buliding (Lamia with barrel vaulted ceiling) to offer self-catering accomodation and rooms on a bed and breakfast basis. There is also a reception/library with 2000 books to choose from, a large patio area with wood oven and barbeque for all guests to use, a shaded area which runs the length of the main building and a spacious 'taverna' with fireplace where breakfast and dinner (on request) is served. All of the apartments are independent with their own access leading from the reception area, the 'taverna' and the area around the wood oven. There is a car park within the complex. Some of the Trulli date back to the XIX century and their restoration has been done with the greatest of respect given to the authenticity of the techniques and materials traditionally used by the master builders of Puglia. The photos display both the interior and exteriors and demonstrate the suggestiveness of these characteristic buildings which have been furnished with the intent of providing a relaxing holiday in a typically Italian environment. The whole complex stands in two hectares of private land with beautifully kept gardens, cacti, olives, carob and almond trees as well as the "Ficodindia" prickly pear trees. The trulli are immersed in greenery; well away from the hustle and bustle of hectic city life. From the swimming pool there are superb views across undulating hills lined with olive trees. Within a radius of 20 to 80 kilometres one can visit: Alberobello which is the capital of all Trulli, the baroque architecture of Martina Franca also famous for its Lyric Festival, Locorotondo famous for its beauty and excellent wines, Fasano's Zoo Safari and the ancient excavations at Egnazia, Cisternino with its characteristic architecture and traditional dishes, the stunning lanes and alley ways of Ostuni, Montalbano's 'Dolmen' and the grotte at Castellana.
Family bookings are welcome at any time of the year.
