In the hills surrounding the Tiber River is situated the beautiful medieval village of Montone. A wonderful place to stay and enjoy the countryside and nature of Umbria, while still being close to important touristic centers such as Perugia (35Km) and Gubbio (25Km) , it also offers various events throughout the year.
The Festival of the Forest: a fair that offers sampling and purchasing of all the typical products of Umbria like truffles, cheeses, prosciutto, salami , honey, etc. etc..(usually the first days of November)
The Festival of the Holy Thorn: a Medieval competition between the three factions of Montone with medieval games (in costume), open air theatrical scenes that celebrate the villages Holy Relic. During the festival the factions set up Taverns that prepare the typical Umbrian dishes, served by waitresses in costume. (week of August 15th)
Umbrian Film Festival: dedicated to the short film, it’s an occasion to enjoy a selection of international and European movies, shown outdoors on a giant screen in the main square of the village. (second week of July)
Umbria Jazz (July in Perugia): one of the most famous jazz festivals in Europe, which has just celebrated its 30 th anniversary.
Along the hill facing the South and with a wonderful view Renzo&Jenny offers a flat with a bedroom, living room, bathroom, and a kitchen (sleeps up to 4 people). Furthermore, on the same property we also have two double bedrooms with a bathroom.
